This trail through the heart of the Ozarks leads past Twin Knobs, a unique rock formation, and terminates on the banks of the Illinois River. Camping is permitted along the trail. This is not a loop trail so to return, it is necessary to retrace the same route. This trail is often used and very popular for overnight hiking trips.

Directions: From Fayetteville, To get to the trailhead in the Lake Weddington Campground, take Arkansas Hwy. 16 (paved) west for 13 miles.

Distance: 15.4 miles

Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous
