The yellow-blazed Beach Trail and River Trail are short trails designed to take visitors from one park amenity to another. Beach Trail takes the hiker up a 100-foot stairway with inclines of 30-45 degrees for an impressive view overlooking the beautiful Potomac River. Benches at the half way point are a relief for weary stair climbers.

Directions: From Montross, VA, The park is located approximately 5 miles northeast of Montross, Virginia off Rt. 3. From Fredericksburg, Virginia, take Rt. 3 east for approximately 40 miles. After entering the park follow the signs to the boat launch and swimming pool. Beach Trail runs along the Potomac River waterfront. River Trail can be accessed behind the swimming pool where you climb the 100 foot stairs which leads to a meadow near the restaurant.
