Sherman's Mill Trail is located by the side of the large horse barn on the east side of US 17. It's an easy path that is well marked beginning along a wide grassy path and venturing back into a thin woodland. Our trip rewarded us with a sighting of what appeared to be a very tame cottontail and a chorus of songbirds. Red fox, white-tailed deer, and even black bear inhabit the area. Rolling pasture in the foreground and Blue Ridge Mountains at the backdrop makes for enchanting scenery.

A picnic table, grill and trash can are located near trailhead.

Directions: From Paris, VA, Sky Meadows State Park is located two miles south of Paris, Virginia or seven miles north of I-66, Exit 23 from Rt. 17. The park entrance is on Rt. 710 (Edmonds Lane). To get to this bridle trail, stay on Rt. 17 a short distance and look for a sign and parking lot on the right. Sherman's Trail is easily spotted as you drive in the parking lot. Trailhead is to the right of the horse barn.
