This easy 1-mile nature trail is perfect for those who enjoy strolling.

Sherman's Mill Trail is located by the side of the large horse barn on the east side of US 17. It's an easy path that is well marked beginning along a wide grassy path and venturing back into a thin woodland. Our trip rewarded us with a sighting of what appeared to be a very tame cottontail and a chorus of songbirds. Red fox, white-tailed deer, and even black bear inhabit the area. Rolling pasture in the foreground and Blue Ridge Mountains at the backdrop makes for enchanting scenery.

A picnic table, grill and trash can are located near trailhead.

Directions: From Paris, VA, Sky Meadows State Park is located two miles south of Paris, Virginia or seven miles north of I-66, Exit 23 from Rt. 17. The park entrance is on Rt. 710 (Edmonds Lane).
