North Ridge Trail is a 1.7-mile blue-blazed trail that connects to the red-blazed Piedmont Overlook Trail. During spring, summer and fall wildflowers are abundant along this scenic path.
Backpacking opportunities afford hike-in sites: non-potable water only and pit toilets. Access to Appalachian Trail lies to the northwest.
Note: Appalachian Trial users must use the primitive campground when camping within park boundaries, and they are required to pay the $8.00 per site, per night fee. There are honor fee envelopes and a pipe safe located in the campground at the information board. AT hikers who wish to park in the Sky Meadow's lot overnight without camping within the park must pay the daily parking fee.
Directions: From Paris, VA, Sky Meadows State Park is located two miles south of Paris, Virginia or seven miles north of I-66, Exit 23 from Rt. 17. The park entrance is on Rt. 710 (Edmonds Lane). After passing the contact station, continue on the main road to the visitor center. Park at the visitor center and follow the main trailhead into the woods.
