Begin the hike from the parking lot found north of Caldwell Lake. Walk across Forest Road 3 passing the log church replica and proceeding north to the trailhead marked CCC Trail. This 1 mile hike loops into a woodland, parallels a creekbed then descends to the eastern shore of Caldwell Lake. Hikers must walk Forest Road 3 to return to the parking area or cross the dam and return via the west shore of Caldwell Lake.

Directions: From Chillicothe, OH, Travel south on U.S. Route 23 about 10 - 12 miles turn left (east) onto State Route 372. Travel it a half mile to the park. Pick up a trail map at the park office. Trailhead is located just west of the parking lot at the north end of Caldwell Lake.
