With an elevation range of 5,700 to 6,500 feet, this trail begins on road 40N03 one mile east of Carmen Lake, and passes near Grouse Creek Lake. It is possible to follow the trail to Kangaroo Lake, however, certain portions go through recent logging on the Shasta-Trinity side. Portions below Road 40N08 are very difficult to follow. The length of the trail is unavailable as the lake lies on private land.

Directions: From Callahan, Follow County Hwy. 2H01 to the junction with State Hwy. 3 just 2 miles east of Callahan. Turn onto Hwy. 3 and follow it for about 4 miles to Forest Service Rd40N03. The trail begins one mile east of Carmen Lake.
