The terrain on the Shannon Lake Trail is gently rolling with a variety of timber types. The loop around Shannon Lake is especially scenic with approximately half of the trail winding through an area that was logged in 1976 and 2000. The remainder explores a variety of northern hardwoods.
Shannon Trail is a good trail for all level of cross-country skiers. The green trail is rated intermediate while the remainder of the trail is classified as novice. A local volunteer grooms the route.
Leashed pets are allowed on this trail only when there is no snow on the ground.
