The Monarch Trail is located south of the park office following a 1.0-mile route through open meadow. Be sure to pick up a bird identification list from the office before venturing out. Resident and migrant bird life is abundant at forest's edge. Over 175 bird species have been identified including thrushes, jays, flycatchers, warblers, and vireos. The trail's name is indicative of insect life as well.

Directions: From Ellison Bay, WI, Take Hwy. 42 north and east for 2.3 miles to County NP. Travel south and east for 2.5 miles to South Newport Lane. Head south 0.9 mile to park entrance. Monarch Trail begins from the park lot located south of the park office.
