Despite this trail is short on distance it is rather difficult. The wildlife and plant life that adorn the area make the hike worthy of visitation.

This 0.3-mile yellow-blazed trail is moderately difficult. From the campground, the trail follows Purchase Ridge to Lover's Leap and around to the visitor center. The hiker will travel through open fields adorned in wildflowers to hardwood forests blanketed with ferns. Natural Tunnel State Park has seven interconnecting trails. Each trail is rather short, however, combined the hiker can travel 3 to 4 miles.

Directions: From Gate City, VA, Natural Tunnel State Park is in Scott County, Virginia. It is approximately 13 miles north of Gate City and 20 miles north of Kingsport, Tenn. To get there from I-81, take Rt. 23 to Rt. 871 to the park entrance. Travel main park road to the campground, the trail follows Purchase Ridge to Lover's Leap and around to the visitor center.
