Imp Trail begins off SR 16 and terminates a little farther south (.3 mile) along SR 16 after a 6.3 mile hike into the forest and up the ridges of Carters Mountain.

Imp Trail starts off by paralleling Imp Brook through a woods of beautiful old hemlock. It then crosses the brook before ascending the ridges of Carter Mountain where it reaches the Imp Face. The trail reaches North Carter Trail at 3 miles then descends in a southwesterly direction to return to SR 16 just .3 mile south of the trailhead.

Directions: From Gorham, NH, Travel south on SR 16 approximately 6 - 8 miles to reach the trailhead on the left (east) side of the road.

Elevation: 3,000 feet

Elevation Gain: 1,500 feet

Difficulty: Strenuous
