Begin the hike by walking west into the woods following the south wall of the gorge. As the trail makes a number of ascents and descents it weaves around huge, interesting sandstone formations. About a half mile down the path, a spur trail offers sights of Big Lyons Falls. Here hikers can venture behind the falls and ascend a sandstone staircase. The trail weaves east above the ravine spilling you at Little Lyons Falls. Venture across the stream found above the falls, and ascend a rise to reach a trail intersection. Bear right and head down into Clear Fork Gorge. When the trail flattens watch for a trail intersection on the right. Take this back to the bottom of Little Lyons Falls. Reconnect with the main trail, bear right and retrace steps to parking lot.

Directions: From Mansfield, OH, Take Interstate 71 to Exit 169, Travel south on State Route 13 approximately 5 miles. When you reach the small burg of Bellville, head east on SR 97 and drive about 12 miles to the Forest. Travel a little less than a mile and turn left onto Forest Road 8. Park in the lot located just beyond the covered bridge. Head west from lot.
