The is trail is approximately one mile along private property, then north through pinyon/juniper woodlands, crossing McFadden Creek, an intermittent stream, to the top of McFadden Peak and the McFadden Lookout Tower. The trail offers views of Park Creek Canyon and many other vistas. Wildlife in the area include mountain lions, black bear, wild turkey, deer, elk, and smaller animals. The is no water along this trail except during the wet season, so carry an adequate amount with you.
Directions: From Young, Travel south on State Highway #288 about 18 miles, north of Reynolds Creek and south of the private property, take the road that leads to the Circle Ranch Trailhead. It is located on the west side of the highway.
