This easy 1.7-mile hike takes the hiker through a hardwood forest of maple and oak with beautiful views of the lake. There is a resting bench about midway. This trail leads to site of 1832 Glenora Plantation, home of many Washington, D.C. aristocrat parties.
Directions: From Fredericksburg, VA, Lake Anna State Park is adjacent to Route 601 off Route 208, 25 miles southwest of Fredericksburg and 55 miles northwest of Richmond. From park entrance, follow signs to Visitor Center. Old Pond Trail begins behind the Visitor Center.
