Holliday Lake is one of Virginia's few parks that offer a water trail for canoeists and paddleboaters. A self-guided booklet is available at the park office for this interesting look at habitat along the water's edge. There are 10 learning stations that will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. The paddler or peddler (rentable hydro-bikes) will learn about the May-June blooming mountain laurel, freshwater invertebrates, erosion, water snakes and much more. For land lovers, the Lakeshore Trail accesses some of the trail's learning stations.
