This 1.1-mile trail connects Lake Trail to the CCC Trail. It is of moderate difficulty. The trail blaze color is yellow.

Directions: From Marion, VA, Hungry Mother is located in Smyth County, Virginia. Take Exit 47 off Interstate 81. Travel for one mile on Rt. 11 toward Marion. Turn right on Rt. 16 north and travel four miles to the park entrance. After passing the contact station, continue on the main park road past the cabin area until the road dead-ends at a parking lot. Begin on Molly's Knob Trail heading west for approximately 1 mile where it intersects with Lake Trail. Take Lake Trail for about 3 miles until it intersects with Middle Ridge Trail.
