Walk along huge flat rock ledges and rugged abandoned quarry along Indian Mound Trail.

The Indian Mound Trail is an easy exploration among a cluster of Indian mounds dating back between A.D. 1000 and 15000. The effigy mounds include several panthers including one stretching an impressive 285 feet. These mounds were likely used for ceremonial or burial purposes. This level trail is easy to walk and provides one scenic overlook of Lake Winnebago.

Directions: From Junction of Hwys. 55 & 114, South Entrance: Travel Hwy. 55 south to South High Cliff Road 0.7 mile to park entrance. The trail begins from a parking area west of the south entrance contact station.

Distance: 0.3 miles

Difficulty: Easy
