The Woodland Trail is the park's most popular trail offering a 1.8-mile loop through old white and black oaks. The trail explores ancient Indian effigy mounds dated A.D. 500 - 1200 years old. In addition there are approximately half a dozen conical mounds to be seen. An Interpretive station located at the overlook explains how glacial Lake Yahara sculpted the areas four large lakes.
Directions: From Middleton, WI, Travel northeast on County M for 2.5 miles. Enter the park. The Woodland Trail is accessed from the southern most parking area.
