This is a wooded 2-mile self-guided loop trail which begins and ends at the Enee Point picnic area. Fourteen nature labels interpret area history, wildlife, vegetation, and ecology. Hardwoods and conifers grace the hillside forests: oak, ash, ironwood, bitternut, basswood, maple, white, red, and jack pine and red cedar. While hiking the trail, you will encounter several steps, steep grades, and rocky surfaces. Hikers will enjoy the scenic views above Cox Hollow Lake and the hike along the lake shore. Note: Pets are prohibited on this trail.
Directions: From Dodgeville, WI, Travel north along Hwy. 23 for 3 miles to the park entrance. Obtain map from park office drive-up window. Trailhead is located at Enee Point.
