Located between Highways 70 and W, the Flambeau Hills Trail is a network of multi-use trails for the novice and advanced recreations. Featuring frequent views of the Flambeau River, the trail begins along Highway W twisting and turning through a series of separate wide pathways ranging from an easy 1.1-mile hike to a difficult 0.6-mile adventure. The northern most path within this network is Snuss Trail, an easy 4.6 mile route connecting to the Oxbo Trail. A backpacking shelter is located approximately 2.5 miles north of the trailhead parking where visitors will find ample lot space and restrooms. No user fee.
Directions: From Winter, WI, Take Hwy. W east about 16 miles to reach trailhead parking on north side of highway.
