View nature at work. Beaver have transformed an old drainage channel into a series of scenic ponds and wetlands. Beautiful limestone cliffs provide prime locations for the hungry red-tailed hawks and great horned owls. Stay on the main trail crossing a small creek then intersecting with Beaver Dam Trail. You may either retrace your steps or venture onto Beaver Dam Trail which spills you into a parking lot just south of the park office. By hiking east onto Douglas Applegate Road, you'll reach the trailhead in 0.9 mile. This is a beautiful road to walk. Many panoramic views.
