Two spectacular waterfalls are located in Crawford Notch State Park and this trail connects the two. By beginning on the Ethan Pond Trail, you have to negotiate some rather rough trail in the beginning. The first falls you'll come upon is Ripley Falls, 100' drop. Several scenic views are available as you hike southbound toward Frankenstein Cliff Trail. At this intersection head west to view Arethusa Falls, 200' drop. From this point, you may either retrace your steps or continue on Arethusa Falls Trail to come out at a small parking area along US 302.
Directions: From Bartlett, NH, Travel north approximately 12 miles on US 302 to the park entrance. Go to the Willey House Station parking lot just below a set of railroad tracks. Begin on the Ethan Pond Trail and hike a short distance to the Arethusa-Ripley Falls Trail.
