The Mary Ann Furnace Trail begins from behind the amphitheater area which is located in the family campground. It is a very popular trail with campers. The trail actually makes 4 loops within the hunting area of the park. The trail travels in a westerly direction from the campground over to Black Rock Flats which is a large cove on the west side of Lake Marburg. From here, you may reach the shore and fish. There is also a tiny spur trail which leads to trailhead parking from Black Rock Road. You may begin the trail from this location as well.

Directions: From Hanover, PA, Take York Street / SR 116 out of town heading east. Travel about 1 mile turning right (south) onto SR 216 and traveling about 2.5 miles to the park entrance. After crossing the lake, take the first road on the right. When the road forks, take a left back into the campground area. The trail begins from behind the amphitheater. OR from SR 216 turn right onto Black Rock Road. Travel past the lake a short distance and you will see trailhead parking on your left.
