  • Huge "rocks" tower above the desert landscape, forming a 40-acre maze of passageways with walls reaching 50 feet. Actually, they're not rocks at all but remains of a several-million-year-old lava flow, perhaps originating as far away as Albuquerque.
  • Picnic areas and several dozen campsites are scattered among the towers, most of them nicely private.
