Penny Run Trail provides 1.4 miles of diverse hardwood forest in the State Park and the neighboring Allegheny National Forest. Hiking difficulty is moderate with steady uphill grades. In winter, this trail doubles as a cross-country ski trail for the experienced. The trail is blazed in blue.

Directions: From Warren, PA, Take US 6 south for about 5 miles turning right (west) onto Chapman Dam Road. Follow this road to the park. Travel to the park road on the south side of the lake. The trail begins from the very first parking area and loops around to the second parking area.
