Cape Henlopen State Park features beaches that are popular with swimmers and sunbathers. There is a picnic pavilion, an 18-hole disc golf course, and basketball courts. Winter hunting is permitted in some areas of the park, and annual events such as the Kite Festival and the Halloween Fantasy Trail are also held there. The park also holds recreational programs, including natural history lectures, outdoor concerts, seaside fishing, and birdwatching, and offers year-round hiking and biking opportunities.
