Ridge Trail is a delight to the bird watcher because it is covered with many species of hardwoods and is abundant with mountain laurel. The bird watcher may choose to carry a field guide on this self-guided 0.5-mile trek. It begins as an easy walk but then becomes rather difficult. Trail blaze color is blue.

Directions: From Haysi, VA, Breaks Interstate Park is 7 miles east of Elkhorn City, Kentucky and 8 miles north of Haysi, Virginia on Rt. 80. Detailed trail maps are available at park office.
