The Lakeside Trail is located on the southeast shore of the lake and is accessible from the primitive campground or the Bald Eagle Launch Ramp at Howard. This path is rather rugged and rocky.

Directions: From Howard, PA, Bald Eagle is located in the middle of the state just off PA Route 150, midway between Milesburg and Lock Haven. It is accessible by Interstate 80. East bound traffic should exit at Interchange 23 and go north on PA Route 150 approximately 10 miles to the park. West bound traffic should exit at Interchange 26 and go north on U.S. Route 220 and south on PA Route 150 approximately 13 miles to Bald Eagle State Park. After entering the park, travel to the primitive campground and access the trail there.
