The 3.8 mile paved auto road winds its way up from the park entrance at an elevation of 550 feet to the upper parking lot at an elevation of 2,800 feet. Excellent views are enjoyed from the upper parking lot and from several points along the road which include access to Futures Trail. Three picnic areas are located along the road, one with a stone CCC-era picnic shelter. From the upper parking lot, two premier hang gliding launch sites are offered. The South Peak is nearest the lot with West Peak requiring a short jaunt down an access trail.

Directions: From Ascutney, VT, Travel to Interstate 91 (Exit 8). Travel 2 miles north on US 5. Bear left onto SR 44A and travel northwest for 1 mile. The main park road is Mountain Road.
