This very short and easy loop trail offers a taste of wilderness with its beautiful hardwoods, singing song birds and lush understory.

Red Jacket Trail begins on the west side of Red House Lake which takes you on an exploration of discovering the forest's beauty. Many wildflowers, native fern and trickling creeks are enjoyed on this .7 loop path. The forest consists of black cherry, hemlock and maple. Several conveniently placed resting benches are provided.

Directions: From Salamanca, NY, Take SR 17 to Exit 19 which is 7 miles west of Salamanca. The trail begins on the west side of Red House Lake.

Elevation Gain: 100 feet

Difficulty: Easy
