If you've ever wanted to learn more about the furry, hardy dogs who pull sleds in the great white north, head to the Great Alaska Husky Ranch. You'll be greeted by Casa, Chena, Bear, Raven, Ruby, Glacier, and the rest of the sled dog team—and, if you’re lucky, adorable puppies (just look at the puppy pictures on their website: http://www.alaskahuskyranch.com/Husky_Puppys.html).

Dress in native mushing gear for a unique photo op, then head out to the snow to watch a demonstration and wait for your own chance to mush (the dogs will keep you company while you wait, so kids aren't likely to be bored). The Great Alaska Husky Ranch is outfitted with sleds for adults, kids, and even babies. The track is in a safe enclosure (so the dogs can't go running off with your toddler in tow) and the well-trained dogs know what to do. You can choose between riding as a passenger, or taking the team out on your own. Mush!
