Woodwind Adventures offers whale-watching tours in Icy Strait and Glacier Bay. Humpback whales are always in the area and nearby Point Adolphus. Glacier Bay is a world famous whale-watching destination. Whales feed here all summer long. There are also occasional Orcas or Killer whales, Minke whales, and several types of porpoise. The boat carries a hydrophone to listen to the underwater sounds made by whales. The sailing vessel, the "Great Sea," is a 40-foot sailing catamaran and features expansive outside deck areas plus inside spaces with large windows. They sail as much as possible and do their best to minimize their impact on the whales and the environment.
