This trail is located on Lake Tahoe's east shore. A moderate five mile uphill hike leads you through picturesque North Canyon, lined with aspens, to Marlette Lake. This road provides access to the Flume Trail, a popular mountain biking trail, which starts at Marlette Lake Dam. Cross-country skiing is possible on this trail in the winter months. No fishing is allowed at Marlette Lake because it is a fish hatchery.

Directions: From East shore of Lake Tahoe, Highway 50/28 junction, Take Highway 28 from Highway 50 north about 1 1/2 miles to the Spooner Lake Trailhead on the right side of the road. Park at the Spooner Lake Trailhead, located in Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. A parking fee is charged.
