This is an enjoyable walk for those dining at the CCC-era Octagon Picnic Shelter. The trail begins in the southwest corner of the open meadow, which is often used for a softball game or crochet match. The trail is an easy stroll of only 0.5-mile over level earthen path. Features along the trail include an overlook of Ritchie Run, and a mixture of deciduous trees typical of northeastern Ohio forest land. This trail does offer access to the scenic Ledges Trail, The Ledges picnic area, and Pine Grove Trail.
Directions: From Peninsula, OH, Travel south along Akron Peninsula Road about a mile turning left (east) onto Truxell / Kendall Park Road.
