Dogwood Trail is located along the southeastern section of the park's boundary. The trail is 2.5 miles long and considered moderately difficult. This trail is part of an entire network of trails located in this park. This trail connects to Lower CCC, also a multi-use trail, and to Raven Rock.
Directions: From Morganton, NC, South Mountains State Park is located in southwestern Burke County, 18 miles south of Morganton. From I-40 take NC 18 to SR 1913. From SR 1913 turn left onto Old NC 18. Travel down Old NC 18 to SR 1901. The park is off of SR 1901 on SR 1904. After passing the park entrance you will see an amphitheater and horse trailer parking lot. Begin on Raven Rock Trail and travel a short distance to Dogwood Trail. If you are on bike, you must access it from Lower CCC or Upper Falls Trail.
