The Singletary Lake Trail is an easy .5 mile trek that begins near the pier at the lake shore making two loops. The trail travels through a forest of bay shrubs, cedar, cypress, sweet gum and tulip poplars. As you loop around you will travel through an area full of longleaf pine and bay vegetation.
Directions: From Elizabethtown, NC, Singletary Lake State Park is located in Bladen County on Highway 53, 14 miles southeast of Elizabethtown and six miles east of White Lake. After pass the park gate, travel to the end of the road which offers a parking area. The trail actually begins by the lake's pier, located behind the education center which you passed on your way to the parking area. However, the trail loops behind the parking area and nature hut. You may begin there if desired.
