Amphitheater-like rock walls surround the waterfalls.

The Big Falls Trail is very short and because of heavy use, very easy to follow. The trail ascends with wooden stairs and follows Elk River downstream. Before the trail's descent to the falls' bottom, there is a rock outcrop on the right that goes out to the top of the falls. The trail then descends some steps and terminates at a rock outcrop on your right. The falls empties into a large pool with amphitheater-lie rock walls.
