The historic trail is a multi-use trail for hikers, bikers and horseback riders. The trail is a little over a mile in length. The trail goes over the trestle bridge where a small group of Confederates successfully held off the Union soldiers and to the fort where the presence of earthworks remain. The canon which was extracted from this site resides in the visitor center. Interpretive posts along the way are very educational.
