The Wright Brothers National Memorial, dedicated in 1932, commemorates the first successful sustained powered flights in a heavier-than-air machine. A 60-foot granite monument sits atop the adjacent 90-foot tall Kill Devil Hill to honor the achievements of the pioneering Wright brothers. The site features ranger-led programs and a museum with artifacts, videos and exhibits.
