Operated by a not-for-profit charitable trust, this traditional gaff-rigged schooner was launched in 1985. At 80-feet long with 3,000 square feet of sails, she's a glorious way to explore the many inlets and beaches of the Bay of Islands. Day trips leave from the wharf in Russell and anchor in a bay where lunch is served and where you can swing off the deck rope into the water. Longer three-day eco trips (the boat has a large galley and bunk-style sleeping quarters) include guided walks to historic lighthouses and whaling stations. Voyages run year-round except in July and August.
