Kings gets you on or in the water, from swimming with dolphins to "The Cream Trip", a boat ride based on the path of the original 1927 delivery route that brought essential supplies and mail to island residents. You can sample all the voyages on the popular "Day in the Bay" tour, which includes a trip to the Hole in the Rock (a large natural rock formation that rises up from the ocean, forming a tunnel that boats can pass through). There are also whale-watching cruises and trips to Cape Reinga, at the tip of the North Island, which also takes you boogie boarding down the massive sand dunes at the Te Paki Stream. A portion of every ticket goes to dolphin research in the bay.
