  • Described by the Albuquerque Tribune as the "only state park you can take with you", this is a favorite of amateur and serious rock collectors, as well as jewelers, who are allowed to take up to 15 pounds of the park's onyx, opal, and agate per visit.
  • Good camping is available, although the 29 sites fill up quickly—the park gets nearly 50,000 visitors a year.
