Trail 153 begins at McKenna Park (just West of the Mckenna Creek) and proceeds west along Rawmeat Creek, then Southerly, to terminate at its junction with 154.

Water available: Mogollon Creek, and Rawmeat Creek Spring.

Directions:Nearest points of access from the north are at Sandy Point (Trailhead #182-WOG H 402) and Willow Creek (Trailhead #151-WOG H 401). Trailheads are approximately 17 and 25 miles east, respectively, on the Bursom Road (NM 159) after its junction with NM 180, 65 miles north of Silver City. Nearest point of access from the east is at the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument parking lot (West Fork Trailhead #151-WOG H 101), 44 miles north of Silver City via NM 15.
