The trail begins just South of the Catron County/Grant County line at the junction with 160. Proceeds west entirely along the Little Creek, terminating at the junction with 155, at the Little Creek Spring - a location west and slightly north of The Granite Peak.

Nearest points of access at either the Cliff Dwellings National Monument parking lot (West Fork Trailhead #151-WOG H101), or Woody's Corral (Trailhead #160-WOG H104). Both trailheads are 44 and 43 miles north, respectively, of Silver City via NM 15.

Water is available at Upper Little Creek Spring and Little Creek.
