SR 12A between Claremont and West Lebanon is the first of several scenic drives in the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Travel Region. This route heads west out of Claremont then immediately turns north and travels approximately 16 miles. Two covered bridges and a wildlife management area are found along SR 12A.

Between the towns of Newport and Washington along SR 31 Pillsbury State Park may be found. This park has overnight and day use amenities.

Lake Sunapee is circled by two roads, SR 103A and 103B.

From Canaan travel north along SR 118 to the tiny town of West Rumney. This beautiful drive offers remote woodland views.

Near the Vermont state line is SR 10 located along the Connecticut River near Hanover. Travel SR 10 north past Post Pond Preserve and Reeds Wildlife Management Area to reach Orford.

Between the towns of Danbury and Salisbury along US 4 Hope Forest and Ragged Mountain State Forest may be found. Eagle Pond, Blackwater Pond, Horseshoe Ponds, Cilleyville Covered Bridge and Keniston Bridge are nearby.

Directions: From Newbury, NH, Several of the scenic drives in this area are centered around Sunapee Lake. Danbury offers a drive along US 4, Claremont along SR 12A, Newport offers views along SR 31, Canaan along SR 118 and SR 10 near the Connecticut River in Hanover is convenient and enjoyable.
