The route between Newbury which is located at the lower end of Sunapee Lake and New London is the only official scenic byway in this travel region, however, there are other scenic drives. The route begins below Fells State Historic Site and the John Hay National Wildlife Refuge. It travels west between Sunapee Lake and Mount Sunapee State Park. Heading north to the town of Sunapee the route becomes SR 11. Several coves of Sunapee Lake are visible. Wildlife Management Areas, several ponds, Knights Hill Nature Park and Philbrick-Cricenti Bog Park are found along this route.

Directions: From Newbury, NH, Travel SR 103 west out of town. SR 103A is a short cut to SR 11. If follows the shoreline of Sunapee Lake where as SR 103 loops farther west before turning back toward the lake.
