Laughlin, 90 miles southeast of Las Vegas, sits along the majestic Colorado River. Its hotel-casinos feature mainstays such as giant gaming halls, showrooms, and restaurants. Nearly 11,000 hotel and motel rooms are to be found, along with 22 RV parks. Resorts here offer players almost 12,000 slot machines and nearly 400 live table games. Early settler Don Laughlin bought an old motel here in 1966 and his Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino led to rapid growth in the area, mostly on account the gaming opportunities in the area. Now it's primarily a shopping district, with outlet malls and a two-story shopping center.
