Cypress Swamp is a scenic area located at Mile Post 122 of the Natchez Trace Parkway. There is a bridge and footpath here and hikers may spot an alligator or two.

  • Hike through a peaceful swampland festooned with water tupelos and bald cypresses. There is a good system of trails, pathways, and bridges.
  • Kids will enjoy this hike, with lots to see, including snakes, newts, turtles, and alligators.
  • Spring and fall are the best times to visit; avoid August and September, when the mosquitoes are at their fiercest.
