Begin from the east side of the parking lot hiking south following the Hopewell Mound marker (counterclockwise). Skirting the edges of the park road, then crossing it, venture up a beautiful ravine eventually reaching Perrot Ridge. When the ravine forks, bear right. At the crest in the trail follow signs marked Reed's Run. The trail unfolds to spectacular Mississippi River views. Perrot Ridge Trail is a loop trail that carries you back to the parking lot.
