There are two well-known Playa Santa Marías in Baja—be sure you're on the one near San Quintín if you want to spend some serious time on the beach. Walk along a seamless ten-mile stretch—Playa Santa María melds into Playa Pabellón to create one of the prettiest white sand beaches on the peninsula. Head to the north end of Playa Santa María for great surfing. Keep in mind that turn-offs for these beaches begin about 8.4 miles south of San Quintín; look for the sign to La Pinta Hotel for the first of the dirt roads in.
