Surfers rejoice! The north end of this beach has a strong northwest swell that produces an excellent beach break, while the south end has both northwest and southern swells for seemingly endless point breaks. Be prepared to rent or borrow a four-wheel-drive vehicle to make the 26-km (16 mi) trek from Lázaro Cárdenas to Cabo San Quintín at the tip of the peninsula, as there are no paved roads on this beach. Camp on the beach for free. Just be sure to bring enough supplies for your stay—it's a long haul back to town.
